This is the space for submitting reviews of Roald Dahl's books (just click on 'Comments').

Roald Dahl was born in Wales 1916 to Norwegian parents. As a young man he served in the RAF, until 1942 when as an invalid in the USA, he discovered he could make money from writing. At first he wrote for adults, then in 1961 James and the Giant Peach was published. It was inspired by bedtime stories he told his children. He became the most successful children's author in the world. Find out more at the great new website http://www.roalddahl.com/.

The Library has most of his children's books as well as his collected stories for adults, and his autobiography Going Solo.

I choose a book named Geordie's Mingin Medicine by Roald Dahl. This is based on the book Georgie's Magic Medicine but translated into scots by Matthew Fitt.
This book was funny because all the text was in scottish slang. It was funny to read a book like this.
The book was about a boy called Geordie. His mother had to go for the shopping one day and leave Geordie and his grandma in the house. Geordie was told to give grandma her medicine and 'eleeven O clock' but he decided to make her a new one. Just watch as Georgie gives her the NEW Medicine.
I would reccomend this book to girls and boys of the ages of 7-13 as the text was easy to read.

Charlie and the chocolate factory

Charlie and the chocolate factory is one of my favourite books. It is about a boy (Charlie)who finds a golden ticket in a chocolate bar which means he gets to go to Willy Wonkas chocolate factory for the day with 4 other children. The are called, Veruca Salt, Augutus Gloop,Mike Teavee and violet Beauregarde who are all quite greedy and nasty in their own way. Charlie is my favourite because he doesn't cause any trouble and is basically the hero of the whole book. I think everyone would enjoy this book because it is a classic and will never be forgotten.
